Key Differences Between Ductless Mini-Splits and Regular HVAC
Ductless mini-splits and traditional HVAC units have some things in common. For example, the Mitsubishi Electric ductless systems we exclusively use can deliver both hot air in the cold New Hampshire winter, and cold air in the summer. But the differences between the two are significant.
Ductless mini-splits, as the name suggests, do not require any ductwork. Instead, they consist of two main components--an outdoor compressor and an indoor air-handling unit. The conditioned air is delivered directly into the room where the indoor unit is installed. This allows for individualized temperature control for each room.
On the other hand, traditional HVAC units rely on a network of ducts to distribute conditioned air throughout the home.
