"Mini-splits are complex and require attention to detail, which is why I used Bergeron"- Rob W.
Key Differences Between Ductless Mini-Splits and Regular HVAC
Ductless mini-splits and traditional HVAC units have some things in common. For example, the Mitsubishi Electric ductless systems we exclusively use can deliver both hot air in the cold New Hampshire winter, and cold air in the summer. But the differences between the two are significant.
Ductless mini-splits, as the name suggests, do not require any ductwork. Instead, they consist of two main components--an outdoor compressor and an indoor air-handling unit. The conditioned air is delivered directly into the room where the indoor unit is installed. This allows for individualized temperature control for each room.
On the other hand, traditional HVAC units rely on a network of ducts to distribute conditioned air throughout the home.
The Benefits of Using Ductless Mini-Splits
Ductless mini-split systems offer several advantages over traditional HVAC units. These are some of the most prominent benefits:
- Better Energy Efficiency: The targeted air delivery of ductless mini-splits allows for precise temperature control, reducing unnecessary energy consumption.
- Improved Indoor Air Quality: Traditional HVAC systems can accumulate dust, allergens, and other contaminants in the ductwork, leading to poor indoor air quality. Ductless mini-splits eliminate this issue since they don't rely on ducts.
- Smoother Operation: Ductless mini-split systems are designed with advanced sound-dampening technology, minimizing noise levels during operation. This makes them ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or offices where quiet and peaceful environments are desired.
- Connecting a Garage or Outdoor Unit: One notable advantage of ductless mini-splits is their ability to connect an outdoor unit to multiple indoor units, making them perfect for adding cooling or heating to spaces like garages or outdoor rooms, which may otherwise be unable to connect to a traditional HVAC system.
